Heavy Traffic, Keen Interest in Shigiya at JIMTOF 2008
JIMTOF 2008 (24th Japan International Machine Tool Fair) drew about 142,000 people from 17 countries to the Tokyo International Exhibition Center ("Tokyo Big Sight”). Shigiya was among the huge contingent of international exhibitors with high-tech solutions to modern industrial challenges.
Booth traffic was outstanding during the trade show's six-day run, and showgoers displayed a great deal of interest in our CNC grinding technology. Visitors to the Shigiya exhibition area were prepared with many detailed technical questions about our equipment lineup.
JIMTOF provided an excellent venue for Shigiya to introduce the newest member of the GAC series of compact angular cylindrical grinders.
Shigiya developed the GACL20.20 as a flexible, cost-effective alternative for all production lines. The GACL20.20 boasts the smallest footprint in the GAC series, ideal for new shop construction or locations where space limitations restrict equipment expansions.
With the fastest speed in Shigiya's GAC series, the GACL20.20 incorporates a newly developed, high-speed linear motor and hydrostatic slideway technology. It is extremely adaptable to operations where individual precision components are produced. It is equally well suited to small- and large-series grinding.
The GPES30.25 CNC eccentric pin/polygon grinder offers a new “Radius traverse” function that expands grinding capabilities. The GPES30.25 provides simultaneous 2-axis control of the wheelhead feed (X-axis) and the work spindle rotation (C-axis), while the control of the table feed (Z-axis) allows oscillation and traverse grinding.
At JIMTOF, Shigiya displayed the GAE30.25, another model from the angular cylindrical grinder lineup. Noted for high efficiency and high accuracy on the mass-production line, this small angular cylindrical grinder provides simultaneous dual-axis control of the angle head wheelhead (X-axis) and table traverse (Z-axis) type.
The GPX30.60, an ultra-precision CNC cylindrical grinder designed for work in the field of nanometrics, also was exhibited. The GPX30.60 delivers simultaneous 2-axis control of the plain wheelhead (X-axis) and table traverse (Z-axis) type. Its ability to produce ultra-high precision on workpieces is made possible thanks to closed-loop control provided by a static pressure slide and optical scale, combined with thorough measures to prevent thermal deformation.
